Welcome to our website.  The Eclectic Lodge was formed in 1867 and consecrated on the 16th December 1867 being No 1201 on the register of the United Grand Lodge of England.  During it’s 140 years the Lodge has seen many changes, in the world, in Freemasonry, and in its own fortunes.  When founded it was a temperance lodge, all the more surprising considering one of its founders was a wine merchant, less surprisingly this did not last that long.  During the first ten years of the Lodge’s existence no less than 84 new members were initiated.
